IJAERS: Water Balance Study of a Watershed of Rengma River in Golaghat District Durlov Deka, Pulendra Dutta  Water balances are vital for making judicious decisions concerning water availability, water conservation, and water management. This paper aims to identify and estimate the surplus and deficit of naturally available water during various period of the year. The volume of different hydrological variables like rainfall, runoff, evapotranspiration etc. were computed and the volume of surplus and deficit water for various periods of the year was observed. The analysis revealed that a major component of the inflow was lost as runoff, which contributes to about 64% of the total outflow, followed by evapotranspiration loss. The results highlight the necessity of efficient water management strategies in order to cater to the ever increasing demand of water among multiple users.  http://ijaers.com/uploads/issue_files/1464715636-29%20IJAERS-MAY-2016-45-Water%20Bal...

IJAERS: Face Identification from Unconstrained Settings and Occlusions

IJAERS: Face Identification from Unconstrained Settings and Occlusions D. Silambarasan, Anju Mary Thomas  The images taken in the ordinary mobile phone cameras are often taken in unconstrained settings. Because of this the identification of face will sometime become very difficult. The paper presented below try to overcome the above conditions of identifying the face from non-uniform illumination, pose, blur and also partial occlusions. Blurred face is modelled as convex combination of transformed focused gallery images .This is extended to those images with illumination variations, which are forming a bi-convex set and finally the variations in pose are also included. For handling the occlusions occurring in the images, the basic characteristics of the human face is taken into consideration. The robustness is increased by the transformation spread function and local binary pattern is added to it that can identify the person even with 70% occlusion in his photograph...

IJAERS: A Study on the Relationship between Siltation and Flow Parameter of a Typical Alluvial River - Studied Open Channel Flow Bhogdoi River

IJAERS: A Study on the Relationship between Siltation and Flow Parameter of a Typical Alluvial River - Studied Open Channel Flow Bhogdoi River Raj Jyoti Bharali, Rituparna Goswami  The tendency of a river to change its course is the common feature of a river. This causes various problem to agricultural land, habitation, hydraulic structure etc located on the river banks. Soil erosion is one of the major threats to the society and it affects the economy of the state. It occurs when grains or assembly of grains are removed from the bank face by the flow. Due to strong forces of lift and drag exerted on the bank by flow, it detaches and removes soil from the intact soil. In our state as the mighty Brahmaputra river passes through the heart of Assam, therefore the affect of soil erosion is very horrible. From the earlier time various method are taken to eliminate soil erosion. The aim of this project is to record periodical observation of a tributary flowing into the riv...

IJAERS: EMD-IIT based High-Resolution Signal Reconstruction using LMS Noise Canceller

IJAERS: EMD-IIT based High-Resolution Signal Reconstruction using LMS Noise Canceller Sharath.M, Raghu.K  High-resolution (HR) signal need to be reconstructed from the noisy Low-resolution (LR) signals that are measured naturally. The solution to this problem is that using EMD noise removal approach. This framework involves EMD iterative interval thresholding along with LMS algorithm which is applied to the available noisy low-resolution signal so that to obtain HR signals. Then the resulting signal is synthesized further to convert low-resolution signal to high-resolution signal. This method results in the reduction of normalized mean square error (NMSE) compared to the previous methods.  http://ijaers.com/uploads/issue_files/1462900827-7%20IJAERS-MAY-2016-4-EMD-IIT%20based%20High-Resolution%20Signal%20Reconstruction%20using%20LMS%20Noise%20Canceller.pdf   ijaers.com/submit-paper/

IJAERS: A DWT-BCH code based Video Steganography by employing Variable bit length Algorithm

IJAERS: A DWT-BCH code based Video Steganography by employing Variable bit length Algorithm Shyamala A, Raghu K  Due to the high speed of Internet we can easily transfer video data over the Internet, but people are worried about their data being hacked by unauthorized users. Inside the host medium (text, audio, image and video) we can embed the secret message in Steganography. Video Steganography is a significant method for data hiding. In this work, a variable bit length Video Steganography algorithm is proposed. To immune the secret data, it is first encoded using BCH codes, where the message bits of length k will be converted to a codeword of length n. Depending on the wavelet coefficient values of DWT(Discrete wavelet transform), secret data are embedded into the middle and high frequencies. The results demonstrate better results than in [1].  http://ijaers.com/uploads/issue_files/1462805212-6%20IJAERS-MAY-2016-5-A%20DWT-BCH%20code%20based%20Video%20Stegan...

For the research were chosen three ponds in the wood and the data collection took place from the breeding season of 1995 – 1996 to 2014 – 2015, in each of the seasons was made an estimation of the population density. The data obtained are been compared in order to make assessments on the conservation status and persistence of the species in the site, also as a result of environmenta...

Evaluation of Land Suitability for Stone Pine (Pinus pinea) plantation in Lebanon

Evaluation of Land Suitability for Stone Pine (Pinus pinea) plantation in Lebanon S. Kattar , K. Abou Rjeily, Z. Souidi, G. Aoun, R. Moukarzel, G. Kallas Stone pine (Pinus pinea) is a typical Mediterranean tree well adapted to drought and high temperatures. It is a species of great interest and economical importance in Lebanon and has a strong beneficial impact on the local communities from the marketing of its edible nuts. This tree is threatened by human activities and fire that are leading to its degradation. Therefore, the aim of this study is to delineate and map the suitability of soils for the plantation and extension of the stone pine. For this purpose, the adopted research methods were composed of the following three steps: (1) identifying through available data and traditional methods the ability of the lands to be planted with stone pine (2) identifying the various factors influencing the growth and fruiting of the treeand (3) transforming and integrating al...

Chemical Composition of the Biomass of Saccharomyces cerevisiae - (Meyen ex E. C. Hansen, 1883) Yeast obtained from the Beer Manufacturing Process

Chemical Composition of the Biomass of Saccharomyces cerevisiae - (Meyen ex E. C. Hansen, 1883) Yeast obtained from the Beer Manufacturing Process Sideney Becker Onofre, Ivan Carlos Bertoldo, Dirceu Abatti, Douglas Refosco Brewer's yeast was subjected to analytical studies to determine the chemical composition of its biomass. To this end, traditional methods of analysis were used to determine ribonucleic acid (RNA), mineral elements, amino acids and fatty acids. The results showed that proteins (49.63%), carbohydrates (31.55%), minerals (7.98%), RNA (8.12%) and total lipids (4.64%) predominate in the biomass composition. The amino acid profile of the protein is suitable for human nutrition, exceeding the recommendations from the FAO/WHO/UNU for essential amino acids. It is particularly rich in lysine and could be recommended as protein supplement in cereals. It was also observed that the yeast was an excellent source of some microelements, such as selenium, chromium...

The Electrophoretic Profile Myofibrillar Proteins Extracted From Camel Muscles, Kept in Various Modes

The Electrophoretic Profile Myofibrillar Proteins Extracted From Camel Muscles, Kept in Various Modes Benaissa Atika, Babelhadj Baaissa, Bayoussef Zahia, Smili Hanane, Becila Samira, Ould el hadj-Khellil Aminata  Changes in electrophoretic profiles of myofibrillar protein (MFP) in the Longissimus thoracis (LD) of young camels (2 to 4 years), preserved by refrigeration has been treated or not by lactic acid solution 4% or citric acid 1%, were followed during the post-mortem time at the following times: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 24 and 48 hours. The cold preservation for 48 hours has not shown any particular distinctions in the protein profiles of this muscle. Changes related to the type of treatment were recorded during the storage time. Proteolysis of the myofibrillar fraction was earlier in this muscle in the case of treatment with one of two solutions of organic acids used, particularly in the case of using lactic acid. Indeed, these changes have affected at the fir...
